SLMDT at Bazoueira
On thursday July 5th, between 19 00 - 21 00, computers with webcams were placed in three different areas within Sofo in Stockholm: Axel Landquists park, Café String and in a private apartment. Each computer was connected to it's own island in Second Life, so that the performances in Stockholm were documented live in the virtual world.

The installation MDT to Second Life and Back is based on an event happening simultaneously at The Office (92,59,30) in Second Life and at the School of Architecture in Stockholm. The project aims to explore the borders between Second Life and First Life.

SL Modern Dance Theatre started as a project to study the appearance of a modern dance theatre and performance scene in a virtual reality. What would a virtual scene look like? How would a performance take place and how would the institution be organized in Second Life where architecture is reduced to mere representation and the physical laws don’t apply? What kind of relationship would occur between the performers and the audience?
